The wood is real. The fire did the finishing.
A nested pair of wooden trays with deep torched-finish grain, slim wrought-iron handles, and a black mirror-finish base. Six pieces. One object.
Most decorative trays are stained. Cheap pine, dyed dark, sprayed with a sealant that yellows over time.
These are torched.
The wood is held over an open flame until the surface chars — and the heat does the colouring, not a stain. The grain gets darker where the wood is denser. The softer fibres burn off. What's left is a tray with topography you can read with your eyes closed.
The base is set with black mirror-finish acrylic that catches and lengthens whatever you put on top — a candle, a decanter, a stack of books. Slim hand-forged iron loop handles at each end. The smaller tray nests inside the larger one when you put it away, so it stores as one object.

Care
Wipe with a dry cloth. The mirror base can take a damp cloth and a soft microfibre to bring back the shine. Don't soak. Don't dishwasher.
Each tray is torched by hand, so colour intensity varies — some pieces are deeper black, others retain more of the amber undertone of the underlying wood. That variation is the finish, not a defect.

Every Havre Co. piece is made from materials chosen to age well - brushed aluminum, solid walnut, pressed felt, PU leather, real wood veneer. Clean with a dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid solvents, abrasive sponges, and prolonged direct sunlight. Wood will darken slightly at points of contact over time. Aluminum will develop a faint patina. Felt softens. These are not defects. They are how good materials behave when they're used.
